2005's Fantastic Four was such a hit that its creators wasted no time getting a second movie into theaters, leading to 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, originally released on June 15. And in Episode 24, we'll essentially be using it as a way to talk about the state of superhero movies before the birth of the MCU.

Rise of the Silver Surfer was directed by Tim Story, from a screenplay by Don Payne and Mark Frost, based on a story by Frost and John Turman, and starred Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis, Julian McMahon, Doug Jones, and Laurence Fishburne.
